☆ This document sets out a consensus statement upon the evaluation of active therapy support surfaces in the laboratory. The Journal of Tissue Viability is pleased to publish this draft statement, which has not been subjected to the peer review process used by this Journal. The statement is intended to create debate and comments are welcome through tissue.viability@btinternet.com until the 31st March 2010.This consensus statement was developed and commented upon by a wide multi-disciplinary team including Dan Bader, Michael Clark, Carol Dealey, Shyam Rithalia (UK), Cees Oomens, Richard Goossens (the Netherlands), Per Ask, Margareta Lindgren (Sweden), Makamoto Takahashi (Japan).
